Privacy Policy - Quant Bot

This Privacy Policy explains what data the Quant Discord Bot ("the Bot," "the Service") collects from its users, and how that data is used and protected.

1. Data We Collect

When you use the Bot, we may collect and store the following types of data:

A. Data Collected Automatically

• Your Discord User ID: This is necessary to identify who is using a command and to store user-specific settings, such as Spotify data.
• Server ID and Channel ID: This is required to ensure commands work in the correct server and channel.

B. Data You Provide to Us

• Command Content: Text you provide with commands like !play, !resim, !quant, or !translate (e.g., song names, AI prompts, text for translation) is temporarily processed and sent to the relevant third-party APIs to fulfill the command.
• Spotify Authorization Data: When you use the !spotify_login command, you initiate an OAuth2 authorization flow. Upon successful authorization, we store the access token and refresh token provided by Spotify. This data is associated with your Discord User ID and is stored in a secure file on the server where the Bot is hosted. We do not store your Spotify password. This data is used exclusively to access your playlists for the playback feature.

C. Server Log Data

When configured by server administrators, the Bot can log the following actions to a specific channel:

• The content, author, and channel of deleted messages.
• The original and edited versions of edited messages.
• Moderation actions, such as when a role is given to or taken from a user.

The maintenance and management of these logs are the responsibility of the administrators of the Discord server where the Bot is active.

2. How We Use Your Data

Collected data is used for the following purposes:

• To perform the Bot's core functions (e.g., responding to your commands).
• To play your Spotify playlists via the !playlist command.
• To send requests to the relevant APIs for AI, translation, and other features.
• To provide moderation information to server administrators.
• To improve the service and troubleshoot potential issues.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell or rent your data. However, to function, the Bot may share your data with the following third-party services:

• Google (Generative AI & Translate): Text from !quant and !translate commands.
• Hugging Face: Text prompts from the !resim command.
• Spotify: We access your playlists using your stored tokens when you use the !playlist command.
• YouTube: Search queries from the !play command.

We recommend you review the privacy policies of these services.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your Spotify authorization tokens are stored on the server hosting the Bot. We take reasonable security measures to prevent unauthorized access to this data. Other data, such as command content, is generally processed in-memory and not permanently stored, with the exception of server logs.

5. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You have the right to request the permanent deletion of your stored Spotify data (your tokens) from our system. To make this request, please contact us using the information below. Upon your request, all Spotify data associated with your Discord ID will be deleted.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be effective upon being posted on this page.
